Discover Scuba/Try Diving

Want to feel what it’s like to breathe beneath the waves? If you’ve never tried diving before, Try Diving scuba diving with Key Dives is the perfect introduction to the underwater world. Check in at 8:30 am for a brief overview of the basics of diving, then it’s off to the pool to learn a few skills. In the afternoon, you’ll join Key Dives on a two-tank dive on a beautiful Islamorada reef to explore the freedom of scuba diving and beauty of the Florida Keys underwater.

Cost: $184 (includes pool session, two afternoon dives, and all equipment)

Open Water Referrals

If you’ve completed your theory and pool session with your local dive shop back home, Key Dives is your one-stop shop to complete your Open Water Certification. Finish your certification up with four open water dives in the beautiful waters of Islamorada.

COST:  $274   Includes 4 ocean dives, all equipment, dive computer, wetsuit and pool session if necessary.  No more than 4 students per instructor.

Scuba Refresher

Our refresher course is designed for anyone who wants to tune-up his or her dive knowledge. The program is designed for certified divers who wish to return to scuba diving after a period of inactivity, however, it is also a great resource for any diver to brush up. Includes instruction, pool session, and 2 dives. 

Cost: $184

Specialty Courses

Whether you have a passion for one particular facet of scuba diving or want to become a skilled all-around Master Scuba Diver, specialty courses are an excellent way to increase your diving abilities.

Key Dives offers the following specialty courses:

AWARE Fish Identification, Boat, Deep, Drift, Enriched Air Nitrox, Multi-level and Computer, Peak Performance, Buoyancy Search and Recovery, Underwater Naturalist, Underwater Navigation, Underwater Photography, Underwater Videography, Wreck. Prices start at $100 and varies depending on the specialty you choose.

Divemaster Certification

If you have a deep love of the ocean, scuba diving, and working with people, becoming a PADI Divemaster is the next step and the first level of becoming a dive professional. Work with and learn from Key Dives staff to expand your diving knowledge, hone your scuba skills, and increase your confidence in the water. After completing this course, you will be certified to lead and teach a number of diving experiences.

E-Learn Open Water Certification

If you are ready to take the plunge, the open water certification with Key Dives is your best choice!

The open water certification is broken down into 3 phases

Phase 1:  Academic studies – These days this portion is all done online.  With Key Dives, you can complete this via PADI by clicking the E-Learn button below or via SSI.  It is your choice.  Please contact us for direct instructions if you choose SSI.. Cost:  $179

Phase 2:  Pool Session – We allow for a full day of pool training to get you ready for your ocean dives.  We don’t rush you through a half-day pool session just so you can get on the boat the same day.  We want you to learn at y our pace!

Phase 3:  Ocean Dives – We will take you on our spectacular reefs for 4 certification dives where you will apply what you learned in the pool.  Cost: $340 – Phase 2 & 3 combined. Includes use of all equipment, dive computer and certification card.  4 students maximum per instructor.




Advanced Open Water

Now that you’re a Certified scuba diver, take your skills to the next level and broaden your experiences by becoming an Advanced Open Water Diver. The Advanced Open Water course builds upon the skills you developed in Open Water and increases your level of knowledge and comfort in the water. This course is comprised of five dives that allow you to gain experience in navigation and deep diving along with three other adventure dives of your choice. You can select from Enriched Air Nitrox, AWARE Fish-ID, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Search and Recovery, Underwater Photography, and many other exciting scuba diving lessons.

Cost: $150 Upgrade with 3 trip dive package (includes theory, five open water dives and manual)

Nitrox/Enriched Air

The nitro/enriched air course is the most popular specialty scuba course. Why? Because scuba diving with enriched air nitrox gives you more no decompression time, especially on repetitive scuba dives. If staying down longer and getting back in the water sooner sounds appealing, then don’t hesitate to become an enriched air diver.

Cost: $100

Rescue Diver Course

Many divers remark that the Rescue Diver course is the most valuable and rewarding scuba diving certification. During the Rescue Diver course with Key Dives, you will gain skills pertaining to self-rescue, accident prevention and maintenance. You will also be able to rescue and assist in responding to panicked divers and unresponsive divers.

Cost: $425. Course includes theory, pool session, and two open water dives. Does not include rental gear.

Emergency First Aid Course

“How-To” of First Aid, CPR, AED and Oxygen administration in diving emergencies as well as emergency assessment, so that any emergency situation can be evaluated properly. This certification is a prerequisite for Rescue certification. Cost $150
